This is a photo of two people who have been together for almost 18 years. Who got married on a Saturday and went straight to class on a Monday to both take huge tests. Who had two sweet babies in their first 2.5 years of marriage. Who flipped their first house all by themselves only to finish it and move to Texas. Who never had a get away for more than a night where it wasn’t work related, for a sick parent or where I wasn’t pregnant. 18 years of surviving a huge move, the roller coasters of having sick parents, the death of a parent, and working really really damn hard at our marriage and friendship amongst raising 4 crazy boys. This was the ultimate trip for us. The belated honeymoon that we never had (12.5 years later). The much needed R&R and to hang out with my best friend for more than a few hours without kids.
